Meet
Dr. Tasha Powell

Leading the Way in Preventive Neurology
Board Certified Neurologist
Dr. Tasha Powell is the founder and CEO of Longevity Neurology Center, bringing over 20 years of dedicated experience in medicine, starting from her professional medical education. While Preventive Neurology is an emerging field without formal subspecialty training, Dr. Powell has long recognized a critical opportunity: many neurological conditions have a prolonged prodromal phase. During this window, targeted prevention strategies focusing on brain and nervous system health can be implemented before diseases fully manifest.

Dr. Powell's approach is uniquely informed by her diverse background. Her work with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and athlete populations within the U.S. Military provided invaluable insights into brain resilience and recovery. Shaped by the traditional wellness wisdom observed working with Alaska and Arizona’s Indigenous peoples, and the rich Mediterranean heritage of her youth in the Balkans, she carries a broadened vision of holistic health that blends diverse traditions. Combined with a personal passion for education, Dr. Powell actively promotes awareness and advocates for policies that support brain health initiatives.

She wants her patients to know that Longevity Neurology Center upholds the standards she advocates. The core philosophy is to meet each patient where they are in their health journey, providing individualized care meticulously tailored to their specific needs and capacity.

Professional Journey & Education

Through this scholarship, she completed her Doctorate of Medicine (MD) at Wake Forest School of Medicine, graduating in the top third of her class in 2009.
Developing a keen interest in the complexities of central and peripheral nervous system diseases, Dr. Powell completed her residency in Adult Neurology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. This renowned U.S. military Medical Center is known for its historical service to many U.S. Presidents.
Her active duty service positions included Chief of Neurology Services and Officer in Charge (OIC) for the Neurology Departments at Evans Army Community Hospital and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, respectively.
